Tour plan
Day 1 – Colombo and Kelaniya Temple
- Arrival at Colombo airport. Welcome by a local guide and transfer to hotel in Negombo.
- After rest, visit Kelaniya Temple – one of the holiest Buddhist sites on the island, full of history and spiritual calm.
- Dinner and overnight in Negombo.
Day 2 – Anuradhapura: Ancient Capital and Spiritual Heart
- Morning visit to Negombo fish market and coconut plantation.
- Transfer to Anuradhapura – the first capital of Sri Lanka, filled with ancient stupas, temples, and ruins of royal palaces.
- Dinner and overnight in Anuradhapura.
Day 3 – Train to Jaffna: North and Tamil Culture
- Train journey to Jaffna, the northern capital and center of Tamil culture.
- Sightseeing in the city, including Dutch Fort, cathedral, and Nallur Kandaswamy temple.
- Evening dinner with a local family and tasting of Tamil cuisine.
Day 4 – Discovering Jaffna Temples
- Visit the ancient Kandarodei complex, Maha Shiva temple, and Keramale springs.
- Afternoon free for relaxation or city walks.
Day 5 – Trincomalee: Port, Beaches, and Spirituality
- Transfer to Trincomalee, one of the most beautiful natural harbors in the world.
- Visit Fort Frederick and Koneswaram temple on Swami Rock with ocean views.
- Afternoon free at the beach.
Day 6 – Sigiriya: Rock Palace and Village Life
- Transfer to Sigiriya – visit the legendary Lion Rock and frescoes.
- Village excursion with bullock cart ride and boat trip on the lake, ending with a communal cooking and banana leaf lunch.
Day 7 – Polonnaruwa and Medirigiriya
- Visit Medirigiriya temple and the ruins of Polonnaruwa, the former royal capital with beautiful temples and Buddha statues.
- Dinner and overnight in Sigiriya/Habarana.
Day 8 – Dambulla, Spices, and Kandy
- Visit the famous Dambulla Cave Temple, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
- Visit the Spice Garden in Matale and the Temple of the Tooth in Kandy, the holiest place in Sri Lanka.
Day 9 – Elephants, Gemstones, and Kandy Culture
- Visit Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage, where you can help bathe elephants.
- Visit an elephant dung paper factory and the gemstone museum in Kandy.
Day 10 – Mountain Journey and Tea Plantations
- Travel through scenic hills to Nuwara Eliya – visit a tea factory and tea tasting.
- Then take the train to Ella – one of the most beautiful railway routes in the world.
- Dinner and overnight in Ella or Haputale.
Day 11 – Kataragama – Southern Spirituality
- Journey to the southern coast, stop at a waterfall.
- Visit Kataragama temple, a pilgrimage site for Buddhists, Hindus, and Muslims.
Day 12 – Galle and Colonial Heritage
- Visit Mulkirigala Temple, carved into the rock, then transfer to Galle – a colonial city listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
- Walk through the fort, seaside alleys, and maritime museum.
Day 13 – Weligama and Ocean Relaxation
- Free day for rest, swimming, and beach time.
- Evening farewell dinner.
Day 14 – Return
- Transfer to Colombo airport.
- End of a journey full of memories, flavors, and unforgettable landscapes.
